The South-West Student Leadership Conference

Leadership isn't taught in a classroom.

After attending large-scale leadership conferences that changed my life, I knew I had to bring that same energy and impact to students around me. That’s how the South West Student Leadership Conference (SWSLC) was born.

The SWSLC was a full day leadership conference held at Huron University, bringing together over 300 students from +11 high schools and 3 keynote speakers. I co-founded and led the initiative working with university organizations, securing sponsorships, managing logistics, creating the event experience, and serving as MC for the day.

But my favorite part? Training and mentoring the 20 student leaders who helped bring the event to life. As part of their leadership training, I designed an interactive challenge called the Tower of Power—a fast-paced team-building game that pushed them to problem-solve, communicate, and lead under pressure. It set the tone for the energy and collaboration we wanted them to bring to the conference.

SWSLC wasn’t just a conference—it was a movement to ignite leadership, build community, and inspire action.
